Bell Glass  - For Geniune Help & Advice You Can Trust

Mirror frames are covered elsewhere (see Picture & Mirror Frames), however a small mention is also worthy on this page.

Bell Glass stock 6mm sheet mirror in sizes up to 2540 mm x 1830 mm (approx 8’ 4” x 6’ 0” ), with greater sizes available as a special order. All branches offer a prompt cutting service for collection, however large sizes can be delivered to the customers premises if arranged. Polishing, bevelling and drilling are commonplace everyday workshop services, with an on site fixing service being provided where requested. This especially being the case where large mirrors are required to be bonded to walls.

Whilst it might be sensible to screw fix a plain mirror to the wall in say a public toilet, such fixing methods are not the most attractive when used within the home or executive office. Better options exist via either bonding the mirror direct to the wall, bonding to a mdf panel (framed or plain) which is retained by back fixed concealed mirror clips, or bonded into a frame which can be hung on wire just like a picture frame. Examples of the latter can be seen in the Photo Gallery below - see photos “Mirror 07” & “Mirror 08” where the use of a polished bevelled edge has also been specified. Moreover as “”Mirror 08” will highlight a mirror does not have to comprise of solely one piece, when the use of numerous pieces can greatly contribute to visual appeal.

Using mirrors within the home or office is not purely for the vain who like to admire themselves. Mirrors can play a far greater role than that, in being a major item of decoration which will not only drastically make a small room space look much larger, but is great for bouncing natural or artificial light around. Dull and boring walls can also be given a lease of life when a mirror (or framed mirror) is placed opposite a window where it then partly reflects the window scene. For sure there are few materials specified by interior designers that have such a low level of maintenance, and there are no rooms in the home that cannot benefit from incorporating a mirror in one form or another. Mirrors are most certainly are not old fashion - no more than glass is.

Being bold with the use of mirror should not be a worrying ordeal, and where incorporated into a bold Bell Glass picture frame can provide a striking feature. The photograph shown on the left is an example where in viewing the mirror frame photo gallery (elsewhere) it is easy to forget that many of these frames are available in wonderful substantial sizes.

Bell Glass also offer an exclusive range of hand engraved mirrors produced by an English artisan. With a few examples as seen in the "Photo Gallery" below these can be classified as works of art and are available at very realistic prices, with the Sittingbourne Branch carrying a good stock ready for immediate collection. Whilst some individuals might prefer to use these mirrors in traditional locations such as above the mantle of a fireplace, they would be great for positioning over a hand basin in the bathroom or cloakroom.

Above: Its nigh impossible to photograph these superb hand engraved mirrors in a manner that does them any true justice. The close up photo “01” illustrates the finely cut detail that exists. How terrific to know that such works of art are produced locally for Bell Glass and not from a production machine in China.
