Picture_Mirror_Frames

Bell Glass offer a comprehensive prompt service for the fabrication of picture and mirror frames. This framing service comes in two different categories, with the first being custom frames produced from 3 metre lengths of mouldings, and the second being a series of preformed decorative frames which are only available in a range of set sizes. These are both described in greater detail below. All frames can be used and glazed for art prints, photographs, or with a mirror infill (bevelled or plain), with the option of bevelled art board surround mounts where required for prints. Both categories of frames represent very good value for money whilst sharing the same standards of high quality. Many finishes are best described as stunning bearing little comparison to what is available elsewhere in the marketplace, where it would appear that cheap prices means inferior quality that will not last over time. Indeed it is thought that if the Bell Glass frames where displayed in a plush retail environment (like say Harrods) the purchase price would be 3 times as much.

To elaborate on frame finishes the frame substrate varies between those formed from kiln dried timber, and those formed from machine grade MDF. Applied finishes range from genuine timber veneers to polished metal facings with many having a thick lacquer/acrylic finish which can be from 1mm to 2mm in depth. They are not wafer thin transfers.

Some individuals may believe that items like framed mirrors are only for the vain to admire themselves, or that beautifully carved picture frames are old fashioned and have no place in today’s modern home, or modern office environment. Such opinions are foolish and lack any imagination. (See also “Design Guide” button).

Bell Glass are happy to provide quotation/estimates on the telephone or via email, but alas mail order is not possible.

Category 1: Frames Produced From Mouldings
Bell Glass hold stocks for approximately 40 different type of mouldings all of which within moderation can be custom made to any specific size requested by the customer. Certain other designs (in terms of colour ranges) are available as a special order. Backing boards are MDF as standard. Turnaround is approx 3 to 4 days from receipt of order - subject to implications. The “Photo Gallery” below comprises of 24 example frame profile photographs, but for more examples a shop visit is essential.

Category 2: Preformed Decorative Frames
Bell Glass carries a limited stock of approximately 15 carved frames in various sizes & styles. Stock levels change from week to week, so alas it is impossible on this website to specify what is available - only a telephone call or email can ascertain this. That said most frame styles are available as a special order with receipt in 3 or 4 days (subject to circumstances).

These fabulous decorative frames are available in numerous set sizes with aperture dimensions (print sizes) ranging from 200 x 250mm (8” x 10”) up to a huge 910 x 1220mm (36” x 48”), however sizes also vary subject to frame style. It is therefore suggested that before setting ones heart on using a specific frame of an ideal size that a telephone call or email is made to check out actual size and availability. Please note that some of these splendid frames have a frame width of up to 225mm (9”), so don’t be confused over scale in viewing the images within the photo galleries below. In those galleries the frame size dimension has been specified for guidance.

Many of these frames are available in different colour finishes. By example please take the time to compare “Décor Frame 02” with “Décor Frame 09” where it will be better appreciated that a change in colour finish can transform the visual effect. Moreover the variation in colour finish provides greater scope for matching an art print to a frame, or matching it to coordinate with other furniture etc.
