| With politicians
consistently failing to tackle crime, terrorisms, or curtail those
who simply have zero respect for the peaceful British traditional
way of life, it looks as though security and surveillance are set to
be promoted as Britain’s number one industry. These are very sad
times, especially when the innocent are compelled to address the
subject. Making a home or office into a fortress is not the answer
to solving any social problem, yet there are instances where some
levels of responsibility cannot be ignored - this is especially so
in the commercial sector. Bell Glass are not security consultants (and hopefully will never be so), however some products on the market such as “Optical PVC Films” serve the dual purpose of tackling security issues whilst also addressing environmental issues, such as reducing damaging UV, improving heat loss and helping to reduce fuel energy bills. The application of films is regarded as being an economical solution in comparison to alternatives. As a recognised “Ultra Film Shield” supplier & installer throughout the Kent region Bell Glass carry a large stock of specialised films which can also be applied by the articulate DIY person if required. In spite of the technical procedures sounding simple to apply, long term success is however best acquired through the hands of the experienced professional - such as employed at Bell Glass. Applying any of the films (to the internal surface) starts off in scrupulously cleaning the glass with a quality product, and then soaking the glass panel with water. The film is then detached from its peel off adhesive coated backing and applied to the glass using a squeegee until all the water has been chased away. The film is trimmed and left to dry, following which it has a 10 year guaranteed maintenance free period, with a projected life expectancy of 20 years. Below is a brief explanation of the film types available, however if you have the slightest doubt what would be the best for your situation then sociable & experienced advice is on hand by telephoning Bell Glass. |

Solar Film: Specifically designed to cut out 99% of the sun’s ultra violet rays, thus in south facing aspects it will significantly reduce bleaching of fabrics, furniture, etc. Other main features are the reduction in energy bills with a nominal saving on air conditioning running costs by up to 20%. Like other films in the range they are great at reducing the ease in which burglars can enter the premises, and great for reducing damage & costs from vandal attacks. Solar Film is not a totally invisible barrier, but allows for vision and the transfer of daylight. |

Coolkote Film: As a metallic coated PVC (looks like mirror foil) Coolkote is the ultimate for reflecting heat from the sun, whilst dramatically reducing ultra violet rays. For main frame computer installations this product is superb when applied to existing windows. AC running costs are greatly reduced, but the number one benefit is the security aspect of preventing vision from the street yet allowing fair vision from within the building - perhaps having some similarity to a one way mirror. Coolkote is also ideal for roof glazing on south facing conservatories where it will greatly reduce heat build up. Yet again this film is first class for resisting hand thrown missiles/bricks from penetrating through the window, and equal in performance from attack by burglars. This grade of film is also ideal for applying to windows in commercial vehicles. |

Safety Film: As an
invisible barrier this film is primarily designed for two different
purposes. The first being a method for applying to plain float glass
panels (windows, doors, screens, etc) located in vulnerable
locations where breakage from young children is possible with the
knock on concern of tragic personal injury. Its far quicker and
cheaper to apply a safety film in comparison to changing the glass. The second purpose is the application to windows or glazed doors panels where breakage or missile penetration is a potential security threat. Many individuals or companies will rightly feel more at ease when such films have been applied, especially when it is known that a burglar will often walk away to find something more easy if access through a window is proving to be difficult. |

Glastop Emergency Film:
Designed specifically to hold together broken glass panels until a
replacement is installed. This can be especially useful for shop
fronts or double glazed window units where some delay is inevitable,
and danger levels must be reduced. |
