Installations can be applicable to both residential or commercial properties.

Although double glazed PVCU sliding/folding door installations are much more expensive than conventional sliding patio type doors the advantages offered are considered to be greatly superior. This is especially so for rooms that receive healthy amounts of sunshine, or have pleasant garden views that are best enjoyed without any interruption within the opening - thus making the garden and home appear as one space. Sliding/folding door systems are unbeatable in locations where for example a room leads into a conservatory, when yet again the end result removes any visual barrier typically incurred by a patio sliding window, thus making two areas visually appear as one.

Where the intention is to construct a conservatory, the sliding folding door system offers the optional advantage of having a low height threshold sill to the degree that if the floor level of the conservatory matches that within the existing property, then an almost flush and seamless floor finish can be obtained (see example photos). This of course is poles apart from common situations often found of tripping over a sill and stepping down into a conservatory.

Key features of sliding/folding doors systems is that there are no such things as “standard” and no true restriction on maximum widths. Design of a door set can be that all doors fold or stack at one end of the opening, or stack equally or unequally at both ends, or be configured that all doors stack at one end with the exception of a single panel which can be used as a single hinged door panel. Panels (maximum width 1200mm - ideal 900mm) can be hinged to project outside of the opening, or inside of the opening thus offering true flexibility. PVCU doors & frames are available in gloss white or various wood veneer type finishes.
