Very few (if any) glazing companies in England can boast of having almost 60 years of comprehensive experience in the field, yet such is the proud claim of Bell Glass, who are always happy to share their technical knowledge & expertise with customers who recognise the worthy values of a family run company.

Bell Glass offer a superb range of high specification performance windows, patio sliding doors, casement doors, and insulated front entrance doors, with options of aluminium framed construction or PVCU framed construction. Double glazed windows are available in numerous configurations including side hung casements, top hung, tilt & turn, vertical sliding, and vertical sliding boxed sash type designs. Finishes are broad ranging with PVCU fabrications offering the scope of different colours between the interior and exterior (see Design Guide for further details). Glazing to fanlights or doors can also comprise of numerous decorative glass options (see Decorative Glass section and Glass General section for further details).

Replacing windows in an older style home has to be one of the most efficient and cost effective methods of re-styling a property to become more visually appealing, whilst increasing its market value. It has been argued by some that the heat/fuel saving made by installing new double glazed windows or doors takes many years to financially claw back. This may be so when viewed as a daft mathematical calculation, however its almost arbitrary when taking into account investment values and greatly improved standards of comfort within the home - plus a saving on maintenance. The latter is especially the case in instances where a professional decorator is used to paint timber window frames every other year over a ten year period.

Unfortunately there can be no cast iron guarantee that the exercise of replacing windows or doors automatically increases the value of any property, when if such an installation has been poorly fitted and is totally un-sympathetic in design then the implications could be negative instead of positive. (See Design Guide for what might be some helpful tips).

Often a replacement window project can greatly benefit from from altering structural opening sizes in walls (especially in height), and Bell Glass are experienced and equipped to handle all such associated builders work and finishes. Such work might include modifying a window opening to incorporate a pair of casement doors, or to modify an opening into a bay window. Indeed it will be the wise homeowner who will investigate all potential design improvements before committing themselves to any contract. Indeed it is hoped that the window installation examples as seen in the Photo Galleries below might assist in the vital decision making process.

The very existence and reputation of Bell Glass has come about over 60 years not because of luck, but because of the genuine honest personal service that is offered, where professionalism can be seen to be in harmony with a genuine sociable family spirited attitude. Qualities of course which are nigh impossible to find in any multi-national company.

With its wealth of expertise Bell Glass are happy to offer free advice to all potential customers, and this good old fashion sociable service is offered without there being any remote obligation on those seeking such assistance. Such advice will cover the aspects of cost implications, design, finishes and options available, plus an insight into any “Town & Country Planning Act” or “Building Regulation” consents that maybe required.

Although it has been mentioned elsewhere its important to be fully aware that as a company policy Bell Glass do not employ salesmen who work on a commission (see “Company Profile“ page for further details). This means that any arranged home visit to seek advice will not be sales orientated, nor will there ever be any intimidating or pressurised nonsense aimed at getting the customer to sign a contract. If you are considering embarking on an exciting window project (residential or commercial), then start the ball rolling by contacting Bell Glass. You have nothing to lose but much to gain. In fact it’s likely to be an enjoyable experience.

All site projects are co-ordinated and supervised by a experienced “Contracts Manager” with the permanently employed “Site Installation Team” members flying the company flag in the Bell Glass tradition, where pride in the job and customer satisfaction are paramount. All installations are provided with a safety net 10 year insurance backed guarantee which is an obligation under today's Government legislation.

Bell Glass  -  Keeping Customers Happy Since 1947 - Who Else Can Say That ?

Bell Glass are fully authorised/registered installers of the following highly reputable glazing systems: - Monarch (for aluminium framed window systems & doors) and Spectus (for PVCU framed windows & doors). These British manufacturers are both involved in the research and development of high performance quality glazing systems but only extrude straight length sections for fabrication and glazing by others.

Hermetically sealed double glazed units (23 or 28mm) are produced at the Bell Glass Rainham workshop and can comprise of float glass, laminated safety glass, Pilkingtons "K" thermal glass or Pilkingtons self clean "Activ" glass. Various designs of patterned glass can be incorporated to provide various levels of privacy (such as generally desired for bathrooms etc).

Since 2002 changes in legalisation have meant that homeowners replacing their windows need to seek approval from the Local Authority under the “Building Regulations Act” (which covers standards of construction, thermal insulation, etc). A fee is payable to the Council for this, with a Building Inspector thereafter examining the completed work and approving or rejecting it. This procedure however does not apply to Bell Glass who as registered members of FENSA are authorised to issue a self certification document confirming that all standards have been met. All Bell Glass projects are registered at the offices of FENSA.

The majority of examples in the following window Photo Galleries have been projects using either "Monarch" - "Spectus" systems.

Although limited in design styles the superb HS and Avalanche range of composite entrance doors are somewhat unique and easily identified by their realistic wood grain texture facing, however in going beyond skin deep it is their construction strength and superior detailed design which must be regarded as a key feature. Areas of glass are cleverly glazed into concealed extruded aluminium sub frames with additional security options including powder coated aluminium profiled edging to the door edge & lock areas (see photo HS16).
